Schools are set to resume after 9 months of closure for pre-tertiary levels. The president announced that school should reopen after closing in March 2020 but according to the GES boss, there will not be automatic promotion
According to the Director-general of education, there will not be a promotion but rather students will move one class ahead.
Answering the question of a Journalist during the press conference, Mr. Amankwa said that students will still complete the syllabus they left after the schools were closed down.
If you are in class one, you will move to class 2 but it doesn’t mean that you have been promoted. You will move to class 2 but the class 1 curriculum that you were supposed to have covered.
We will make an arrangement to make sure that you cover that before you go on to cover what you are supposed to cover in class 2” He added
School will also resume on 18th January for pre-tertiary levels
