The emerging information as seen in footage available to Ghonliner sighted in Broadcast Ghana captured a moment one of the NPP MPs said he was going to vote against the outgoing speaker of parliament Prof. Mike Oquaye who is from the same party as him.
The video attracted mixed reactions after it hits the internet, having many NPP supporters expressed their views in disappointment.
Today, Ghana witnessed a historic change in the election of speakership as Alban Sumana Bagbin from the NDC was elected as the 8th speaker of parliament of the 4th republic.
It is clear the candidate nominated by the ruling party, thus NPP was unable to win the race to become Speaker of Parliament for the second time.
Instead, the opposition candidate who was presented won the election carried out. The outcome of the election appeared shocking to the ruling NPP as many have begun pointing fingers at some MPs.
The results show that 2 MPs of the ruling NPP didn’t vote for their party’s candidate after the election.
One of them voted for Alban Bagbin, the NDC candidate, and the other decided to ruin his ballot paper.
A video appeared on the internet that threatened the NPP MP of Sunyani East Ameyaw Cheremeh not to vote for Mike Ocquaye should he be nominated by the President.
He the President knows he will it vote for Mike Ocquaye if he nominated him so he shouldn’t make the mistake of nominating him.
